Acumatica Cloud CRM Vs. Dynamics 365 for Sales

In our last blog, we matched Acumatica Cloud ERP against Dynamics SL to demonstrate which ERP is a better tool for today’s cloud-driven business world. Acumatica came out on top as being the most scalable, cost-effective, and convenient ERP solution for cloud and hybrid environments, but how does Acumatica’s integrated cloud CRM compare to the well-established Dynamics 365 CRM? Read below for our second edition of Acumatica Vs. Microsoft Dynamics.

The Cloud CRM Era

Any business that wants to remain competitive over the next decade will likely migrate at least a part of its IT infrastructure to a cloud-based environment; both CRMs we are looking at are cloud-ready applications. First, we have the widely used Microsoft product, Dynamics 365 for Sales: formerly known as Dynamics CRM, this software is deployed for cloud environments and is a web-based application with integration to Microsoft SharePoint. On the other side, we have Acumatica CRM, the integrated customer management software in Acumatica Cloud ERP. This platform has been uniquely and natively designed for cloud and hybrid environments, but it can be deployed on-premise as well.  Both CRM’s have seamless communication between sales and accounting through a guided process and high-level business analytics software that will help your company close leads faster and have a better global view of your operations.

Acumatica CRM Vs. Dynamics CRM Factor #1: Mobility

Being web-based applications, both CRMs are mobility-ready on iOS and Android platforms. Dynamics CRM’s mobile app can be edited to suit the user’s needs without need for coding and has access to most of the software’s features. However, when it comes to reliability and accessibility, Acumatica’s mobile CRM comes out on top. Dynamics CRM’s mobile access has long been a source of complaints due not being very user-friendly and not having full-access to all of Dynamics features. Mobility seems to be an afterthought for the Dynamics 365 team, while mobility has been at the forefront of Acumatica’s innovative technology.

Acumatica CRM Vs. Dynamics CRM Factor #2: Licensing

Dynamics 365 is priced per-user and is sold in three different Plans. For our current purposes, we’ll focus on the Customer Engagement Plan, which encompasses the Dynamics CRM features including the Sales, Customer Service, Project Service Automation, Field Service, and Social Engagement apps. The price per user for a base package license is $210 for full-user capabilities, and $8 for a “Team Member” license with limited access. The cost will go up as additional apps are added.

Acumatica CRM has a completely different pricing model. Based on consumption and resource needs, pricing is defined by the amount of transactions-per-hour and the amount of applications being used. There are no hidden fees with Acumatica CRM and you can scale up as needed. Companies using Acumatica only pay for what they need as business expands; Acumatica grows parallel with your organization. In contrast to Dynamics CRM, Acumatica doesn’t make you buy a package with apps that you may not need. This makes it a cost-effective CRM solution that can even integrate with ERP features if required.

Acumatica CRM Vs. Dynamics CRM: The Verdict

Both Dynamics CRM and Acumatica CRM are top-of-the-line software. Either choice is a great option to modernize your Sales and Customer Relation software, but when it comes to Mobility and Pricing, Acumatica has the upper hand. Most sales units that work the field need their CRM tools to have full-access from mobile devices; Acumatica has the most reliable and complete mobile app of either choice. Its unique, scalable pricing model is also a game-changing factor when it comes to choosing the most cost-effective CRM for your business.
